RESTON, VA – Reston Community Center’s Terry L. Smith Aquatics Center will be open its usual hours in late August and early September, instead of closing for its annual maintenance period.

For most of its 39 years in Reston, the aquatics center has closed for about three weeks. “There will be no maintenance period in 2018 as RCC is readying for a total pool renovation in 2019,” said RCC Executive Director Leila Gordon. The aquatics center is expected to close for several months, beginning in January 2019.

In addition to lap swim, open swim and drop-in classes, RCC has added sessions of adult and youth swim lessons. There will also be a Family Splash on Friday, August 31 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. RCC will be closed on Labor Day, September 3.

For more information, please visit RCC’s website or call the Aquatics Service Desk at 703-390-6150.
