Alessandra RicciThe Heart of Art exhibit explores the concept of art expressed through canvas. Every painting is imbued with the artist’s energy, thoughts, and emotions that are projected to the observer using various colors and mediums. Alessandra’s double-canvas paintings facilitate and bridge the connection between her mental concept and the art itself… an experience that transfers from the mind, to the canvas, and freely flows through your heart.

Alessandra Ricci was born and raised in Northern Italy. Greatly influenced by contemporary Italian sculptors and painters from an early age, she was incited to explore her artistic inclinations. She completed her studies at the Depero School of Art in Rovereto, Italy in 1994 and began to cultivate her own artistic style through relentless research and experimentation.  Alessandra has exhibited her art in Trento and Verona, Italy; Luzerne and Zug, Switzerland; SOHO, NYC; Washington DC, and the Northern Virginia area. She relocated from Europe to the Washington DC area in 2009.

In addition to classic canvas paintings, Alessandra’s expertise includes batik and serti techniques on silk and silk-wool blended clothing and scarves. “Unlike the typical batik heat-stamping process, I perfected new batik and serti methods that allow me to completely hand-paint complex and vivid images. It gives me great joy to create wearable art as an extension of my artistic expressions, and that further offer the user unique and stylish fashion statements.”
