Gift Shopping Event: Saturday, December 7 • 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m

During the 21th Annual Gifts from the HeART Exhibit, a benefit for Cornerstones, artists will display and sell original works of art in mediums like watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, collage and photography in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery from December 2 to January 6, 2020. All entry fees and 10 percent of sales are donated to Cornerstones to support their important work in the community.

The Holiday Gift Shopping Event on Saturday, December 7 turns the Lake Anne facility into a festive marketplace of food and gifts from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This one-day event offers everyone an opportunity to enjoy holiday refreshments while perusing the many tables of original artwork that include ornaments, small and large paintings, notecards, textiles, pottery, sculpture, fused glass and jewelry.

Participating artists donate 10% of proceeds from sales during the shopping event and throughout the month of December (through February 14 in the 3D Gallery) to help Cornerstones continue its important work. This includes operation of the Embry Rucker Community Shelter, Laurel Learning Center and Cornerstones’ Community Services Outreach, which provides job counseling, emergency food, and youth programs. Approximately $15,700 has been raised for Cornerstones since the annual exhibit was first held in 1999.

“The Gifts from the HeART exhibit brings artists and community members together for a wonderful cause,” said Cheri Danaher, RCC’s Arts Education Director. “Through this event, everyone involved can enjoy fantastic works of art, celebrate the holidays, and also support those in need in our area.”
