SUMMARY:Hacia la Vida by Hoesy Corona at Tephra ICA Arts Festival
DESCRIPTION:Hacia la Vida is a site-specific performance created by Hoesy Corona that explores migration and displacement caused by climate change. Performers will process through the Tephra ICA Arts Festival streets adorned in intricate sculptural costumes created by the artist that simultaneously make their bodies anonymous and hyper visible. Using the archetype of the traveler and the anthropomorphic representation of mother nature\, this performance humanizes the figure of the immigrant and celebrates the power and beauty of nature. The event starts at the Reston Hyatt and moves through the festival. \nHoesy Corona is a Latinx Queer artist who has been exploring climate migration in work created over the last decade. \nThere are two performances: 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
