SUMMARY:Places We Have Been\, People We Have Met II Reception
DESCRIPTION:Oil Paintings by Margarita Reyes and Albert Halac \nMargarita Reyes and Albert Halac are accomplished oil painters originally from South America. Margarita hails from Montevideo\, Uruguay and Albert was born and raised in Argentina. Although their styles and subject matter are quite different\, they share a love of creating art from an early age. \nMargarita ReyesMargarita is the great-granddaughter of the famous Uruguayan painter\, Pedro Figari. Her interest in art and drawing began in early childhood and was nurtured by taking classes in her native Uruguay. She began her formal painting training in 1987 with Raimundo Rubio\, Antonia Ramis\, Pia Imas\, Mara Odette and Monica Schott. Margarita also took classes at Atelier Sisto Pascale in Uruguay. \nNow living in Virginia\, Margarita has won several awards at the inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Gallery exhibits. Her work has been shown at the Uruguayan Embassy\, Cobblestone Art Gallery and The Torpedo Factory in Alexandria\, Virginia and many more. Margarita’s scenes from rural areas capture the tranquility and beauty found there. \nEnjoy her exquisite exhibit of landscapes\, flowers\, trees and nature. \n“Mystical Scene”\, oil on canvas \n \n  \nAlbert Halac\nAlbert came to America from Argentina in his early twenties. His parents encouraged his childhood love of historical comics and his natural talent for drawing everything he saw\, fostering his artistic growth. He carried his talents through school and college and become an avid observer of the diversity of common people through such a lens. \nAlbert has traveled extensively across the Americas and the old world\, and his oil paintings bring home images of people like us from places different from ours but sharing the same challenges of everyday life. He holds a B.F.A. from Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes\, Argentina\, and continued his studies in advertising at the School of Visual Arts and communications at Hunter College in New York City. \nEnjoy his vibrant and captivating oil paintings that immerse you in the scenes he brings to life. \n“Bosporus Fisherman”\, oil on canvas \nContacts: Margarita Reyes margajreyes@gmail.com  Albert Halac alberthalac@gmail.com
