SUMMARY:“Connections that Bind: Art and Friendship” Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:The RAGS Artists of Lake Anne \nArtists from Reston Art Gallery (RAGS) celebrate the unique connections between art and friendship in this exhibit in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery. A highly eclectic collection of paintings in a wide range of subject matters ranging from representational to abstract\, this exhibit is not to be missed. \nSandra Dovberg\, a longtime member of RAGS\, is in the process of downsizing. Many of the pieces in this exhibit are hers. This is a rare opportunity to acquire original works of art to grace your walls at extremely reduced prices. If you purchase one of her pieces\, the actual cost will be 50% of the price on the label. \nSandy’s works include a wide variety of mediums and collage materials emphasizing her awareness of color\, line\, shape\, texture and memory. \nNot surprisingly\, the mediums and subject matters of the other RAGS artists are also diverse. Acrylics\, watercolors\, oil\, pastels and mixed media are used by these artists in sometimes dramatic\, sometimes conceptual\, sometimes fantastical and sometimes whimsical and humorous ways. \nEstablished in December 1986 by Pat Macintyre\, The Reston Art Gallery and Studios (RAGS) is a privately owned cooperative gallery in the historical part of Reston known as Lake Anne.  RAGS hosts a rotating exhibition in their large\, main gallery each month of works by one or more of our artists. \nThere will be seven other RAGS artists participating in this exhibit: Pat Macintyre\, Marthe McGrath\, Cindy Grisdela\, Jennifer Duncan\, Julia Malakoff\, Rosemarie Forsythe and Doug Fuller. \nContact:\nJulia Malakoff: juliatova@gmail.com\nSandra C.
