RCC Participation Guidelines (COVID-19)

RCC remains in a COVID-19 prevention profile. Capacities are still limited and will be reevaluated with the start of Summer offerings. All patrons and employees must wear a mask when in RCC facilities or programs. All offerings require prior registration or a reservation to use a pass. Social distancing, mask wearing, health self-checks and regular hand sanitizing are required of all patrons and employees. These requirements will be carefully and consistently enforced to keep us all healthy.

  • Social distance of six feet is always required in all areas of RCC facilities whether public, program or office settings.
  • Participants in Fitness/Wellness or Aquatics offerings must always maintain a social distance of 10 feet.
  • Patrons and staff should always wash hands prior to coming to RCC. When in RCC programs, patrons should always use the hand sanitizer stations located in programming and lobby areas prior to starting a program or drop-in use.
  • Masks should always be worn in public areas by patrons and staff. Patrons in Fitness/Wellness or Aquatics offerings may remove masks to swim or engage in exercise activities. Patrons will be reminded to maintain the required social distance throughout participation.
  • RCC staff provide regular spot cleaning of surfaces and high-touch areas throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is offered in a variety of locations throughout the facilities. 
  • Per government public health guidelines, the Terry L. Smith Aquatics Center spa and beach entry play features will not be available. We will be monitoring public health advisories and will update patrons if the recommendations and availability change. Lockers in the locker rooms will not be available for fall programming. Patrons may take their belongings onto the pool deck – there will be hooks and benches there. Patrons are urged to leave anything valuable locked in vehicles or at home.
  • Patrons who become ill with COVID symptoms, or who receive a COVID-19 positive diagnosis after participating at RCC, should report their symptoms to their healthcare provider and/or follow their healthcare provider instructions. Please contact the RCC Director of Customer Relations Pam Leary at 703-390-6144 to cancel enrollment. RCC will share COVID-19 positive information with the Fairfax County Health Department; all contact tracing and response activities will be guided by that agency. RCC fully complies with all HIPAA requirements.
