DESCRIPTION:During the 25th annual “Gifts from the HeART” exhibit artists will display and sell original works of art in watercolor\, oil\, acrylic\, mixed media and photography in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery. Ceramic pieces\, both functional and ornamental\, will be featured in the 3D Gallery along with beadwork\, jewelry\, mosaics\, fused glass and wood works. DESCRIPTION:Acrylic Paintings Inspired by Colors of Nature by Touran Mahdaviazar \nReception: Sunday\, January 14 \nLocal artist\, Touran Mahdaviazar\, an immigrant from Iran\, presents her colorful acrylic artworks in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery at RCC Lake Anne from January 8 – February 5\, 2024. \nAs a child\, Touran always found comfort and joy in drawing and painting.  She is a “natural talent” having no formal training until her recent classes at Reston Community Center. She was always inspired by the wonder and beauty of colors in nature and incorporates bright colors in all her work. \nWhen she was a school-aged girl\, most of her notebooks and textbooks were covered with her drawings. Now in her retirement years\, she has returned to her love of painting and has produced numerous works of art that hang in the homes of her friends and family. Her colorful depictions of nature and people bring peace and joy to the viewer.  \n“When I start a new painting\, I am in a different world where I cannot hear or see anything around me\, and I do not realize the passing of time\,” Touran says. She hopes to inspire the new generation to pursue their talent\, inspiration and passion. \nContact: Masi Ashoori masihashoori@gmail.com     \nMountains\, acrylic by Touran Mahdaviazar
