SAY GOODBYE TO RCC’S TERRY L SMITH AQUATICS CENTER
AT “LAST SPLASH” PARTY (PDF)
RESTON, VA – The public is invited to say goodbye to the Terry L. Smith Aquatics Center at the Last Splash Aquatics Renovation Party on Friday, December 28 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
RCC’s aquatics facility will be closed from January to October 2019. When it reopens, it will feature two pools: one an expanded lap pool with a zero-depth entry and water play area, the other a warm-water therapy, exercise and teaching pool. See more details and renderings on RCC’s website.
The Terry L. Smith Aquatics Center, built in 1979, has served several generations of swimmers. Come and swim one last lap, slide down the slide or splash in the pool. Admission is $1. The event will feature:
- Open swim with games and races
- Music
- Farewell gift
- A “graffiti wall” to pen your pool goodbyes
RCC has partnered with the Fairfax County YMCA Reston, Reston Association and Herndon Community Center for discounted rates for RCC patrons during the construction period.
