Honoring the Life and Legacy of Congressman Gerald E. Connolly

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Congressman Gerald E. Connolly, a dedicated public servant and tireless advocate for the people of Virginia and our nation. Congressman Connolly passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by principled leadership, compassion and an unwavering commitment to public service.

Throughout his career, Congressman Connolly championed issues that mattered deeply to his constituents – from strengthening local infrastructure and supporting public transportation, to defending civil rights and advancing effective governance. His intellect, integrity and deep respect for democratic institutions earned him admiration across party lines.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, staff and all those whose lives were touched by his work and example. The loss of Congressman Connolly is profoundly felt not only in Northern Virginia but across the halls of Congress and the country he served with distinction.

In honor of his life and service, we ask that all reflect on the values he upheld and the progress he helped forge. May his memory continue to inspire us to lead with purpose, humility and a steadfast dedication to the common good.

May he rest in peace.

Signed,

RCC Board and Staff
