Acrylic Paintings Inspired by Colors of Nature by Touran Mahdaviazar

Local artist, Touran Mahdaviazar, an immigrant from Iran, presents just a few of her colorful acrylic artworks at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods from December 2 to January 15, 2026.

As a child, Touran always found comfort and joy in drawing and painting.  She has not had any formal training but is a natural talent. She was always inspired by the wonder and beauty of colors in nature.  She incorporates bright colors in all her work.

When she was a school age girl, most of her notebooks and textbooks were covered with her drawings. Now in her retirement years, she has returned to her love of painting and has produced numerous works of art that hang in the homes of her friends and family. Her colorful depictions of nature and people bring peace and joy to the viewer.

“When I start a new painting, I am in a different world where I cannot hear or see anything around me, and I do not realize the passing of time” Touran says.  She hopes to inspire a new generation to pursue their talent, inspiration and passion.
