Arachne Aerial Arts and In-Flight Theater to Perform For That Which Returns at Reston Community Center September 29

RESTON, VA — Reston Community Center (RCC) is pleased to announce an upcoming performance of For That Which Returns, an innovative collaboration between Baltimore’s In-Flight Theater and Arachne Aerial Arts. For That Which Returns will be performed at the CenterStage at the Reston Community Center at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29.

For That Which Returns draws inspiration from the classic myth of Demeter and Persephone when three women inhabit a 15-foot-tall metal weather vane while exploring the connections between mothers, daughters and the seasons. This collaboration brings together Baltimore’s In-Flight Theater and Arachne Aerial Arts and features an original script by Mara Neimanis; choreography and performance by Andrea Burkholder, Mara Neimanis and Sharon Whitting; sculpture by Tim Scofield; music by Helen Chadwick; lighting design and artistic consultation by Daniel Burkholder; and directorial consultation by Bryce Butler.

“In-Flight Theater and Arachne Aerial Arts are two exceptional groups on the forefront of aerial arts,” said Paul Douglas Michnewicz, RCC Director of Arts and Events. “For That Which Returns is sure to be a striking and memorable performance.”

For That Which Returns will be performed at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at the Center Stage at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods, located at 2310 Colts Neck Road in Reston. Tickets are available at the Reston Community Center Box Office (also at this address), online at www.restoncommunitycenter.com, and via telephone at 703-476-4500.

The performance of For That Which Returns is part of RCC’s Professional Touring Artists Series, which also includes performances by musicians, singers, songwriters, actors, dancers and other performing artists between September 2012 and May 2013. Additional information about this and other performances is available online at www.restoncommunitycenter.com.
