Embrace Equity Through Film: Come Join Us at the Movies!

Come with us on our journey toward social justice. While it is challenging, we encourage you to be part of this inspiring experience. Through meaningful conversations, shared experiences and mutual respect, we can create impactful change and celebrate our progress together.

This February, we are excited to screen “Equity Matters Films”, a compelling series featuring powerful stories that address vital themes such as identity, resilience, and social justice. Whether you’re a film enthusiast, a social justice advocate, or simply curious, these screenings are open to everyone.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

“One Night in Miami”
Monday, February 3, 10:00 a.m.

Experience a fictional night in 1964 with Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown as they discuss their roles in the Civil Rights Movement and the ’60s cultural upheaval. This gripping film highlights how these icons shaped their identities and fought for justice. (2020, rated R), FREE

“I Am Not Your Negro”
Wednesday, February 5, 7:30 p.m.

Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, this documentary highlights novelist James Baldwin’s reflections on the lives and violent deaths of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. It explores the legacy of racism in America; part of the Baldwin100 Celebration. (2016, rated R), FREE

“Amazing Grace”
Wednesday, February 12, 7:30 p.m.

Join us for the inspiring story of Grace Fisher, a young musician who overcomes Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) with the motto, “My only limitation will be my imagination.” Featuring Justin Hurwitz, this film celebrates resilience through music. (2020, rated PG), FREE
