Oil on Canvas Paintings

Reception: Sunday, November 10, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Margarita Reyes, an accomplished oil painter with a unique perspective, hailing from Montevideo, Uruguay, presents vibrant and dynamic works reflecting her rich heritage. “My paintings are a manifestation of my unique perspective on nature, flowers, trees, houses and places that have captivated me,” Margarita shares. Her skill is evident in her ability to capture the allure of a home with a white picket fence adorned with flowers, a lively marketplace, or a forsaken boat.

Margarita’s artistic journey began in her early years, influenced by her great-grandfather, the renowned Uruguayan painter Pedro Figari. Her passion for art and drawing was nurtured through classes at the Atelier of Sisto Pascale in Uruguay. In 1987, she embarked on her formal training under the guidance of Raimundo Rubio, Antonia Ramis, Pia Imas, Mara Odette, Monica Schott and Sara Sittig.

Now living in Virginia, Margarita has won several awards at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Gallery exhibits. Her work has been on display at the Embassy of Uruguay, Cobblestone Art Gallery in Alexandria, VA, The Torpedo Factory, Edward Jones Financial, Capital Financial and RCC Hunters Woods, where she won a Best in Show award in 2018. She has had solo exhibitions at City Tavern Club in Washington, D.C. and Weichert Realtors in Great Falls, VA.

Enjoy the exquisite exhibit of landscapes, flowers, street scenes and nature at RCC Hunters Woods in November.
