Mel Brooks’ slapstick 2001 adaptation of his 1968 film is a laugh-out-loud, outrageous, and crowd-pleasing musical farce about producer Max Bialystock and his accountant, Leo Bloom as they scheme to bilk their backers out of millions of dollars by creating the biggest flop Broadway has ever seen:  Springtime for Hitler!  Winning a record 12 Tony Awards in 2002, The Producers is a love letter to musical theatre and features wild costumes, comic gold, a chorus of singing pigeons, and a line of little old ladies dancing through Central Park with walkers!
