Fairfax County has about 80,000 federal employees and over 3,800 federal contractors. With more than 60 federal agencies based in Northern Virginia – some right here in Reston – we understand that the recent cuts to the federal workforce and budget may create uncertainty for you and your family. At RCC, we are here to support you during this transition.

To make our programs more accessible, RCC offers a Fee Waiver Program for Reston employees and residents. This program provides financial assistance to all members and dependents of eligible households. Families can choose from a variety of options, including summer camps.

In response to the recent changes in the federal workforce, RCC is expanding the eligibility for its Fee Waiver Program to support federal employees who have been affected. Fairfax County also provides additional resources and services for former federal employees, contractors or anyone impacted by job loss. We encourage you to check out the recently launched Federal Workforce Resource Hub for more information and consider attending the Empower & Elevate Employment Resource Fair in Centreville on March 23.
