International Chamber Soloists to Perform at the CenterStage

RESTON, VA — The Reston Community Center (RCC) is pleased to announce an upcoming performance at the CenterStage by the International Chamber Soloists. The performance is scheduled for April 29 at 2:00 p.m.

International Chamber Soloists is a unique group of extraordinary young string players from all over the world. Founded in 2004 by violinist Dmitri Berlinsky, the group has received high praise for its performances at home and abroad. International Chamber Soloists has performed widely throughout the United States, including appearances for major series in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC.

Among other engagements, the group gave a ten-concert tour in the Midwestern United States and made its Canadian debut tour this season. In addition to its participation in international festivals in Costa Rica and Mexico, the International Chamber Soloists was orchestra-in-residence at the 2010 Southampton Arts Festival on New York’s Long Island.

International Chamber Soloists members also perform with such major orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Detroit Symphony and Cincinnati Symphony; and the best of the young artists from the Juilliard School of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, the Curtis Institute, and Yale University have also toured with the group.

Founder Dmitri Berlinsky arrived on the international scene as the youngest winner in the history of the Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa, Italy. Berlinsky has performed literally the world over, and has appeared in such major venues as Carnegie and Avery Fisher Halls in New York, The Kennedy Center in Washington, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, and the Leipzig Gewandhaus. Berlinsky is an artist, teacher and professor at the College of Music of the Michigan State University.

The International Chamber Soloists’ performance is part of the 2011-2012 Professional Touring Artists series at the CenterStage. The season began in September 2011 and continues through May 2012 with performances by musicians, singers, songwriters, actors and performing artists of all kinds, both from the local area and from around the world. All performances take place at the CenterStage, located at the Reston Community Center Hunters Woods.
