From Jazz to Family Fun: Discover the Sounds of Summer in Reston
Reston, VA – RCC launched its highly anticipated summer concert and entertainment series last week, in time for Memorial Day weekend, with music and fun for the whole family. Committed to fostering community engagement, RCC invites you to some of Reston’s most beloved plazas and gathering spots to enjoy an exciting variety of music, culture and entertainment ranging from jazz to bebop and from salsa to disco.
Fan favorites return to Lake Anne Plaza for Sunset Concerts on Wednesday evenings. Take a Break Concert Series on Thursdays will be presented once more at Halley Rise, near Wegmans. Kick off the weekends with a double header on Friday evenings beginning with jazz from Darden & Friends at Reston Town Square Park. Then head over to Reston Station for Summerbration Fab Fridays for cover bands that will have everyone up and grooving to songs from the Beach Boys, Taylor Swift, the ‘80s and more. The Family Fun Entertainment Series on Saturday mornings proves to be an exciting time for all at Reston Town Square Park. Crowd favorites include Rocknoceros, Guava Jelly and Turley the Magician. Return to the park on Sunday evenings to close out the weekend with beautiful sounds from the Shenandoah Conservatory musicians.
“There’s nothing quite like the magic of summer evenings filled with music in Reston,” said RCC Board Chair, Beverly Cosham. “With six concert series five days of the week, all Restonians can have a summer filled with music, fun and community spirit. Music has an incredible power to bring people together, and we are thrilled to be a part of that.”
