RCC Hunters Woods

Board of Governors

Unless otherwise noted, comments from members of the public will be taken at the beginning of meetings. People bringing matters before the Board of Governors during that time are urged to provide a written statement to be assured their comments are accurately reflected in the official Board of Governors records. Individual statements are to be provided within three minutes; those representing an organization will be asked to provide comments within a five minute timeframe. Comments may be sent to RCCContact@fairfaxcounty.gov if community members cannot attend the meeting.

Reston Community Center is governed by a nine-member Board that is appointed by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, after the residents and businesses of Small District 5 express their preferences in an annual poll. Board members serve three-year terms. The Board of Governors is responsible for these key oversight functions:

  • Strategic Planning to guide RCC priorities for facilities, programs and services,
  • Policy Administration to advance the purposes, governing principles and functions of RCC,
  • Public and Community Relations to understand and support the Reston community,
  • Fiduciary Oversight to assure responsible stewardship of RCC resources,
    And
  • Personnel to select and employ the RCC Executive Director.

For more information about RCC and its governance, please see the RCC Policy & User Manual and the RCC Governance Reference Documents.
